Facts about Marijuana: Legalizing Marijuana and Reforming Marijuana Laws
Saturday, 02 May 2009 23:20

There are many facts about marijuana that have been consistently distorted and hidden since the early 1970s in the US. For instance, many people fail to realize that marijuana (cannabis sativa) has been used as a very beneficial medicinal herb for thousands and thousands of years - all across the entire planet. In fact, there are very few, if any, societies throughout the history of Earth that have not utilized marijuana for a variety of positive reasons including, but certainly not limited to:

• Relief from chronic pain;
• As an aid for relaxation and calming;
• As an agent for inspiring creativity and innovative thought;
• As a stimulant for the appetite, especially in those who are weakened from debilitating health disorders;
• To create an environment of peacefulness and benevolence amongst friends;
• and so very much more!

Totalitarian-style governments continue to manipulate the "free will" of the people, in part by making the cultivation and usage of marijuana a criminal offense. Billions of dollars in revenue are generated from city, state and national government organizations in the United States alone - on a yearly basis. These monies are generated in the form of fines imposed, properties seized, bogus fund raising events and more. Is it any wonder why they keep marijuana illegal?

Reforming unjust marijuana laws rests in the hands of every free-thinking citizen. Marijuana is a wonderful gift from nature that all adults should be permitted to experience and choose for themselves. Remember what happened when the government took away people's booze? There was massive chaos and public uprising. The difference with marijuana prohibition is that peaceful potheads are just too mellow to revolt. Maybe it's time for that to change. Begin your personal revolution for the legalization of marijuana by educating yourself further. Discover the facts about marijuana that have been hidden and distorted for so long.

Yup, you failed to mention how harmful marijuana is when young developing minds use it. And that's what would happen if you legalize it. Also, marijuana is universally known as a gateway drug to much more harmful drugs. So why can't we exercise our free will and shoot up heroine? That's a similar argument to yours. Its not about free will. Marijuana is a harmful drug that should not be legalized.
