My name is Kindrea. I suffer from a chronic illness that does not allow me to have a good night's sleep on many occasions. I have tried sleeping pills in the past with bad side effects. With the current medication I am taking for my chronic illness, I cannot take too many additional medications so sleeping pills are out of the question. I have considered taking medical marijuana to help me fall asleep at night. It seems to be a safer alternative. Although the stereotyping would follow from my friends and family. And I would worry about sending the wrong message to my children. You would think with all the dangerous chemical laced pharmaceuticals that get approved by the FDA that medical marijuana would deserve a closer look. Or is it that pharmaceuticals have our FDA so much by the balls that any natural medicine is "bad and unlawful"?? Kindrea

![]() written by E. Jay Fleming , October 16, 2009 Kindrea I think explaining to your kids that it medicine is the best way to do it. Also it may be less glamorous if it's moms medicine, rather than something cool. I was torn about what to do about using medical marijuana, I'm a former cop, I spent half my life putting people in prison for drug charges, now I need morphine and medical marijuana for low back pain, and nerve pain in my feet. So you're not alone about being confused. Be truthful as you can depending on your kids ages. Remember, you can always take your medicine in food rather than smoking it. I hope things work out.....
